Masai Mara National Reserve
The Mara, as it’s popularly known, is perhaps Kenya’s most famous wildlife park. It’s famed for the annual great migration of wildebeests and zebra from Serengeti in Tanzania to Masai Mara in Kenya. The Masai Mara National Reserve is large, occupying an area of 1,510 sq km. Over and above this there are group ranches or conservancies owned by the local people in collaboration with investors. Over 95 species of mammals and over 570 species of birds have been recorded in the Mara.
